About this deal
Merseyrail are partnering with Liverpool BID to offer FREE rail travel on the Merseyrail network every Friday for 6 weeks from 17 May to celebrate their Get That Friday Feeling campaign.
To claim a FREE ticket, simply fill out the form on the website by 12pm on the Thursday before the Friday date you wish to travel. Tickets will then be emailed that afternoon, to be used the next day only. If you wish to travel more than one Friday during the 6-week period, please ensure you register again by 12pm on the Thursday before.
Terms and Conditions:
A rail travel voucher entitles one person to make one return journey between any origin and end station on the Merseyrail network free of charge.
The Merseyrail network covers the Northern line between Liverpool and Southport, Ormskirk, Headbolt Lane via Kirkby and Hunts Cross, and the Wirral Line between Liverpool and New Brighton, West Kirby, Ellesmere Port and Chester.
The rail travel voucher is only valid for one Friday date during the 6-week period from 17 May 2024 during Merseyrail’s operating hours.
Travel will not be permitted without proof of a valid rail travel voucher. Passengers must be able to present it upon request at any point during their journey
Rail travel vouchers are non-transferable; the passenger travelling using a rail travel voucher must be the person who registered for it.
At any point during their journey, the registered passenger must be able to produce officially recognised ID (i.e.photo ID card, passport, driving licence).
Rail travel vouchers must be surrendered if requested by a member of Merseyrail staff.
Rail travel vouchers are not exchangeable for cash.

Heard of many people getting fined at the barriers
I've passed the details on to a few people who'd appreciate it
A really great cracking deal and yes they don't need a print out and they're too busy to check your details let alone ask for proof of ID
Be aware that at the barrier you will need a member of staff to show it to who will then open the barriers (edited)
read the T&C carefully or you’ll get a penalty fare
edit - arghh its a 12pm cutoff. Missed it for this week! (edited)

That's why we can't have nice (free) things. I'll bet my bottom that half of those claimed tickets won't be used - since they cost nothing to get, there's nothing lost in not using them.
I'd much prefer a deal for £1 or something - still saves a bundle but stops people claiming a bootfull of freebies they won't use.
